UV Lens Applications

For skin acne inspection:

Propionibacterium acne is the key factor in the development of skin acne vulgaris --- comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), papules (pinheads), pustules (pimples), nodules (large papules), kerions and possibly scarring. Propionibacterium acne will produce quasi-porphyrin during the process of catabolism. Under the UV light, this material will appear in fluorescent brown or red color. The intensity of fluorescence and the number of infected bacteria are significantly related. Hence, it is very ideal to use the UV light to inspect skin, in order to discover skin acne, for early detection & early treatment.

For skin pigmentation inspection:

Melasma is a common skin disorder, usually appears in among adult women. It is more difficult to find an effective treatment. Under UV light other epidermal melasma becomes darker. It will be easier for analysis research. There are other pigmentation disorders such as freckles, café-au-leit spots, neurinoma spots, xeroderma pigmentosa, age spots. They also become darker under UV light inspection, skin discolouration is more obvious.
